The Gospel Message
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
The word "Gospel" means "Good news," and in order for us to understand the Good news, we first need to hear the Bad news. The Bible says that all of us are sinners before God, worthy of punishment. That punishment is death.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
The Good news is that God, in His love and mercy towards His creation, and not wanting people to eternally suffer in hell, sent His Son Jesus to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross, that thru faith in Him we can get right with God and have eternal life in Heaven with Him when our life here comes to an end. In order to receive this gift of salvation from the Lord, the Bible says we must repent of our sins, and trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior, in other words, accept salvation thru faith in Christ.
For this is the will of God, your sanctification… 1Thessalonians 4:3
It is God's will that believers find a church to attend, be baptized, and diligently study the Bible, so that your faith would grow stronger every day. Those who truly have been saved are called "New creation" in the Bible, meaning that a believer's life does not remain the same after coming to Christ. The Lord Himself will teach us thru His Word and thru the Holy Spirit to live godly lives and to fight against sin. We have the promise of Jesus to always be with us every moment of our lives, to guide us thru difficult moments, forgive us when we do wrong, and to lead us into heaven when we leave our earthly life and begin eternity.
But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ… Philippians 3:20
May God grant you faith thru the power of His word, and may His unmeasurable love, mercy and grace transform your life.
